Q = Quotes from Famous Authors.

Here are some quotes from a few famous authors and my thoughts on them.

Any man who keeps working is not a failure. He may not be a great writer, but if he applies the old-fashioned virtues of hard, constant labor, he’ll eventually make some kind of career for himself as writer.
- Ray Bradbury

A lot of the quotes I come across pretty much say writing is work and you have to get on with it.

Literature is all, or mostly, about sex.
- Anthony Burgess

This one cracked me up, but it’s true most stories have some sort of romance in them.

Writing is its own reward.
- Henry Miller

I have not always felt that way, but if anything writing is a way to relax and leave reality for a while.

“Writing a book is a horrible, exhausting struggle, like a long bout of some painful illness. One would never undertake such a thing if one were not driven on by some demon whom one can neither resist nor understand.”
—George Orwell

That’s about how I feel about my work in progress. I just want it to be done.

I guess there is a reason why I do not quite get along with Mr. Orwell ;)
