Digital Publishing and Languages

I have two links for the letter "D". Meanwhile as this posts, I am on the road on the way to Florida.

D2D = Publishing with Draft to Digital

Draft to Digital is an optional way to publish to Apple, Kobo, Barnes and Noble and a few lesser knowns if you don’t want to deal with Smashwords. And believe me, I don’t want to deal with Smashwords. I have had way too many frustrations with them where I reached a point that I would never publish with them. I only feel their recent upgrades were forced on them by better sites like Draft to Digital. The biggest problem I had with Smashwords is problems getting my book either put on a retailer or taken off. One of my books took 6 months to finally be taken down. Another book took three months to appear on Apple. Then the email response time from Smashwords was months. I just want the ability to control what is going on with my books.

So I just recently published through Draft to Digital and the process was easy. First of all, no style guide with 50 pages of rules. All I had to do was upload a Word version. Everything went smooth.

Dulongo for learning different languages.

Who needs expensive foreign language software? I have tried to learn German, French and then Spanish only because one of my kids had to take it. I ended up knowing a little of each. The biggest problem is that if you don’t use it or don’t really have a need it’s easy to forget. With this site, one could get into a routine of practice and it’s free. There is a wide choice of languages and exercises. I was impressed that the program even has you speak back to it. If you have kids who are now required to learn a foreign language this can be a big help.

Dulongo sounds cool! No kids, but maybe I could brush up on my Japanese.

My experience with Draft2Digital has been good. Though I'm worried about the upcoming site redesign. Those seldom go well For. Users.
