Trying not to be too quiet!

Anyway, here is a small update. I hit the 20K mark with Vallar 3 (which is really a prequel.) This always seems to be the place that’s like some sort of threshold. In other words, it means that if I hit 20K and haven’t deleted anything, it’s looking good for completion.

And here’s the thing about prequel. I don’t want it to be in the #1 position because even though it’s about pre-Vallar times, I want the reader to read it…after Vallar 2. So I have this framing going on where the first 2 chapters happen after Vallar 2, but then by chapter 3 it goes into an enormous flashback. And it’s mostly about the Admirals…Kodet and Reese. It focuses on an era where the people of Mars are desperate to go back to Earth and they’re looking for a leader strong enough to get them there. Enter the antagonist…James Beacon.

I've been having a great time writing about William Kodet because he is such a different character. A change can be fun. William took over the show. However, who knows what readers will think of this one.

In the Indie world there was a big blow up about a plagiarized new adult book called “Amazingly Damaged” that was pulled by Amazon. All I can say is….publishing can be like online gaming. People will cheat at anything, but eventually it catches up with them. And get ready for tons of new adult books to be published because everyone wants to jump on their popularity. And it’s New Adult that isn’t Scifi or Fantasy that’s popular. So make sure you keep it mainstream with lots of sex, oh yeah the guy has to have a lot of cute tattoos too.

Have a great week.

Still don't think I'll be writing any new adult books.
Great progress on the third book. Placing it as number three works. Look at The Chronicles of Narnia - two of those books are out of sequence.

Hurm, so I suppose I should go rewrite some scenes of old books to put in more sex and tattoos.

Sounds great Cindy. Keep up the good work.

The bandwagon look's so comfy, doesn't it? Yet somehow I just don't want to get on.

Great progress on book 3, hope it continues to go well.

Congrats on the progress!

And I do have a NA manuscript that needs work, but right now, I'm much happier writing fantasy, despite being tempted to dust the other old manuscript off.

It looks like I'm not the only person that took most of the summer away from blogging... I was just stopping by to check on you. Congrats on the work for Vallar 3 that's coming along.

And New Adult... I don't know what to even think about that.

Great progress. Keep at it. This summer I've been writing articles. It's a nice change of pace.
